Professional Experience:

As a seasoned professional, with over 15 years of experience in the international development sector, with combined expertise in human rights, and coordination.

Over the course of my career as a Human Rights officer, consultant, and coordinator, I have had the privilege of providing my expertise to a wide range of programmes and projects. I became proficient in monitoring and reporting on substantive human rights issues, with a focus on gender equality and the leave no one behind principle, as well as in conducting advocacy with government institutions and civil society organizations for the realization of the rights of the most vulnerable groups. Moreover, in the past few years, I have had the opportunity to contribute to several multi-year, multi-sectoral UN Joint Programs in Malawi, which have allowed me to apply my skills and knowledge to meaningful initiatives that aim to improve the lives of communities. My work has been predominantly focused on holding overall responsibility for operational guidance and coordination of the programmes, strategic engagement with UN Recipient Agencies, Government, donors, CSOs and key stakeholders.

Following my extensive experience in project management, implementation and monitoring, in different development and emergency contexts (Malawi, Timor-Leste, Sierra Leone, Dominican Republic, Guatemala and currently in Tajikistan), I believe I can strongly contribute to the successful implementation of programmes and policies related to human rights, gender equality and non-discrimination. In fact, I have the skills and experience to effectively analyze each context to identify major priorities and needs, to plan intervention taking into consideration all the relevant context challenges, but also to effectively evaluate and monitor proposals submitted by potential partners (being them international organizations, local and international NGOs and consultancy firms). I’m a versatile project manager with solid experience in coordination, policy dialogue, sector analysis, reporting and management of external relations.

As an individual, I am a hard worker and a result-oriented person with permanent attention to detail. I can multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and effectively motivate and lead teams. Over time I have proven to be able to work independently and in a team. In my managing positions in fast-paced environments, I developed precious skills and the capacity to adapt to stressful situations and establish strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels. Besides, my coordination background has honed my analytical, reporting, and writing abilities, allowing me to consolidate and present data in a user-friendly manner that's tailored to the intended audience.
