Specialist, Bioeconomy Initiative
Location: Geneva, Switzerland
Temporary position, November 2026 to May 2029. The Centre for Frontier Technology & Innovation's Bioeconomy Initiative addresses public trust, commercial adoption, and enabling policy conditions for the bioeconomy. The Specialist will help deliver these workstreams by coordinating communities, supporting flagship publications, developing stakeholder insights and translating Forum convenings into practical action, reporting to the Bioeconomy Lead. Responsibilities include coordinating and expanding the Forum's global Bioeconomy Community and Working Group activities; building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders across business, government, academia, international organizations and civil society; facilitating stakeholder consultations to build trust in emerging biotechnologies; developing communications materials, briefing notes, presentations and partner engagement resources; conducting policy and landscape research for the Bioeconomy Policy Maturity Index; supporting policy blueprints and analytical frameworks; contributing to flagship reports and thought leadership; supporting regional deep dives on commercial biomanufacturing; coordinating multistakeholder workshops and regional dialogues; and monitoring progress for partners and funders. Requirements: academic background in life sciences, bioengineering, biotechnology, bioeconomy, public policy, economics, business or related discipline; 2-4 years of relevant experience in biotechnology, bioeconomy, biomanufacturing, innovation policy, sustainability, consulting or international organizations; familiarity with commercialization pathways for biotechnology; understanding of policy development and innovation ecosystems; excellent project management and coordination abilities; excellent written and spoken English.
