Professional Experience:
With over a decade of international experience in project management, asylum services, and cultural mediation, I’ve built a diverse and adaptable career centered around human rights, communication, and cross-cultural engagement. My work has taken me across Europe—including Italy, Cyprus, Greece, and the Netherlands—where I’ve had the privilege of supporting vulnerable populations and leading teams in dynamic, high-pressure environments.
Currently, I serve as an Intermediate Asylum Registration Expert with the European Union Agency for Asylum (EUAA) in Italy. In this role, I support and coordinate registration procedures, enhance service quality, and manage interpretation logistics. I am responsible for quality control in the registration process and contribute to vulnerability screening and Dublin assessments. My ability to balance detailed administrative tasks with human-centered support is one of the key strengths I bring to this work.
Previously, I worked with EUAA in Cyprus, where I was involved in a wide range of responsibilities including principal and group registrations, face-to-face interactions with applicants, and simultaneous interpretation between Farsi, Dari, and English. I also supported document submissions and interview arrangements, and translated official materials such as educational credentials.
In Greece, as an interpreter and cultural mediator with ITC Cooperative on Lesvos and Kos islands, I provided interpretation services for asylum interviews, medical consultations, and psychological sessions. I played a vital role in supporting applicants throughout the registration and reception process, using my language skills and cultural understanding to help bridge communication gaps in a multicultural, often challenging environment.
Earlier in my career, I worked with the Foundation of Opera San Francesco in Milan as an Alternative Dispute Resolution Coordinator. There, I interpreted for psychological and psychiatric sessions, assisted with legal and welfare documentation, and actively participated in cultural initiatives and publications aimed at improving communication between practitioners and patients from diverse backgrounds.
In addition to my humanitarian work, I’ve held roles in the private sector, including Vice Manager at a luxury retail brand in Milan’s fashion district. I managed store operations, organized events, and liaised with international clients—developing strong organizational and customer service skills.
I also bring creative expertise from my time as a content creator and production coordinator in the media and advertising industries, where I worked on branding, video editing, and event planning in both Italy and the Netherlands.
Throughout my career, I’ve leveraged my multilingual abilities—fluent in Persian, Dari, English, Italian, and conversational in Greek and German—and my strong intercultural communication skills to ensure inclusive, efficient service delivery. I’m passionate about creating environments where diverse voices are heard and respected, and I thrive in roles that combine leadership, empathy, and precision.
