Online Curriculum Design Consultant: Building Local Protection Networks

Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP), an international civilian protection organisation, seeks a consultant to develop an online training curriculum on Building Local Protection Networks for its UCP Academy learning platform. This is a fully remote consultancy from 1 November to 31 December 2026, requiring 20 working days of effort, with a maximum budget of CHF 8,000 (CHF 400/day), paid in two instalments (25% on signing, 75% on completion). Under supervision of the UCP Academy Manager, the consultant will conduct an inception review of NP guidance and external literature, consult NP field teams and academic partners (including Aberystwyth University's Creating Safer Space initiative), design the curriculum architecture and module content (session outlines, case studies, exercises, assessments), and present the draft for validation before finalising a digitalisation-ready package. Deliverables include an inception note, consultation report, draft curriculum package, validation feedback matrix, and final curriculum plus digitalisation guidance. Requires an advanced degree in peace and conflict studies, international relations, humanitarian law, education or related field; demonstrated knowledge of unarmed civilian protection and community-based protection; at least five years' experience designing adult learning curricula for online/blended delivery; and ability to work independently and remotely across time zones.
