Security Coordinator IO1190
Location: Saint-Paul-lez-Durance, France
The Security & Safety Section (Safety & Quality Department) of the ITER Organization is responsible for occupational health and safety, security, protection against acts of malevolence and emergency management, in compliance with Host State regulations, including protection of persons and goods, nuclear materials, data, and worker health and safety.
Job grade: G5. Contract: initial employment contract of up to five years, with possibility of extension. Language: fluent English (written and spoken). This position is shift and/or on-call based, including day, evening, night, weekend and holiday work.
Key responsibilities:
- Coordinate security-related contracts, service providers and interfaces with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring delivery meets requirements, schedules, budgets and quality standards.
- Monitor the performance and effectiveness of security systems and equipment, identify issues and improvements, and coordinate follow-up actions.
- Maintain the technical consistency and performance of physical protection and security systems.
- Keep technical and operational documentation up to date; prepare technical reports including condition and performance analyses.
- Supervise and participate in daily technical operations of physical protection and security systems.
- Contribute to the design, qualification, installation, integration, commissioning and maintenance of new physical protection and security systems.
- Track technological advances and benchmark activities to recommend continuous improvements.
Essential experience and competencies:
- Comprehensive experience managing and maintaining CCTV, access control, badging, intrusion detection and fence detection systems.
- Administering security system servers, workstations and equipment; assessing risks, including cyber security risks, and proposing mitigation measures.
- Project and contract management, including risk, cost, scheduling and reporting.
- Troubleshooting and root-cause analysis; continuous improvement; application of Quality Management System procedures.
- French security clearance is required to take up the position.
Qualifications: Master's degree or equivalent in Engineering, ideally with a specialization in security, control systems, electronics or another relevant technical discipline. The degree may be substituted by extensive professional experience involving similar responsibilities and/or additional training certificates.
Staff working shifts or on-call require a driving licence valid in France; no commuting vehicle is provided.
